You must have a Bing Webmaster Tools account with your domain added for IndexNow submissions to work.
What Is IndexNow?
IndexNow is a protocol developed by Bing that allows websites to instantly notify search engines when content is created, updated, or deleted.
Instead of waiting for search engines to eventually crawl your site, IndexNow lets you proactively tell them, “Hey, something changed!”—leading to faster indexing and improved visibility in search results.

Setup Instructions (All Sites)
This article walks through the universal setup process for all other CMS's that are not listed in IndexPilot IndexNow setup area.
Step 1: Get Your IndexNow Key
In IndexPilot, go to Integrations → Bing IndexNow
IndexPilot automatically generates a unique key for your site
Click “Copy” to copy the key to your clipboard
Step 2: Create the Key File
Open a text editor (Notepad on Windows, TextEdit on Mac)
Paste your key as plain text
Important: Paste only the key—no extra characters, spaces, or lines
Save the file using your key as the filename, with
.txt
extensionExample: If your key is
abc123xyz789
, save it asabc123xyz789.txt
Step 3: Upload the File to Your Website
Upload the
.txt
file to the root directory of your websiteIt must be accessible at:
https://yourdomain.com/abc123xyz789.txt
The file must be publicly accessible at the top level of your domain—not in a subfolder.
Step 4: Verify in IndexPilot
Back in IndexPilot, click “Verify Key”
If the file is correctly placed, you’ll see a ✅ green checkmark
IndexPilot will now:
Submit your URLs automatically
Monitor your sitemap
Instantly notify Bing (and other IndexNow-supported engines) about any changes

Double-check that your
.txt
file contains only the key—no line breaks or extra spacesThe file must be hosted at your root domain (e.g.
